Two soft pastel studies of an acorn squash.

I really do like this medium, it is a pity it doesn't last and needs so much TLC even after being framed - there are many pastel drawings from the Impressionist era in Paris on display in the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, and they are in a special room with gentle light, even so the colours are really vivid and beautiful and no reproduction has ever done them justice.

I've just done a landscape with coloured charcoals and soft pastel, it's outside in the glorious sunshine with the fixative drying. And my head feels good after doing it. Drawing and painting is ... so very satisfying.
